In this 2-hr live, virtual course, we will explore the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system. More specifically, we will discuss how the lungs and thoracic cavity adapt to various types of exercise, including "cardio", resistance traning, yoga, and high intensity interval training (HIIT). We will review how thoracic mobility, lung tissue quality, and lung volume affect respiratory function. We will also touch briefly on the effects of chronic illness on respiratory function.
